An Update to the Bid Center
July 3rd, 2009 Posted in General, Operations, Website FeaturesGreetings!
It has been a while since this blog has been used, so we are cleaning off the dust and hope to begin updating our pilots on the new features of our website as they roll off the assembly line. Most noticeably, Fusion Airways has recently unveiled FSACARS which will allow real-time communication, tracking, and reporting of every dispatched Fusion Airways flight.
However, one page in the Crew Center is still under construction. Our Bid Center, was originally up at the start of the VA, and was based on a first-come first-served bidding system. However, we decided this was not realistic, and are in the works of completely re-building this system from scratch. After it’s rebuilt, the system will allow Fusion Airways to open bidding about one week prior to the bid period, and have crew members bid based on their seniority. The way it is at nearly every real-world airline in existence.
As you can imagine, this is a monumental task, and we are not aware of any Virtual Airlines that have ever released such a system. We are anticipating it will be another 2-3 weeks before this system begins testing, however we are anticipating it will be released prior to our August Bid Period.
Let us know how you like our website, the features we have, or what you would like to see! Please leave us a comment here, or in the Fusion Airways Forums. We love to hear back from our Crew Members!
That’s all for now…
